It was threesome months in the making but DC Shoes is finally tasting victory. Moving into first place with an increase of 178% growth this hebdomad and 1.3 million views, the shoe company was able to knock viral juggernaut, Evian, from the top spot. In a surprise rally, DC, along with agency Mad Media, released a follow up creative to the Gymkhana Two Project campaign; Gymkhana 2.1. The video features DC sponsored skateboarder, Rob Dyrdek, joining Gymkhana star, Ken Block, as they 'drift' their way through a humorous tongue-in-cheek spoof of the example construct resulting in some death defying maneuvers. The follow up blot contributed to a majority of the campaign's growth suggesting DC had a captive conference at the ready to consume more of their branded content. A nice position to be in.
The tech battle continues this hebdomad with a return from HP's You On You campaign landing in fourth place. The viral video technology girl began when HP, Apple, and Nokia each made their debut on the chart two weeks ago. Last hebdomad it appeared that Nokia would stand as the victor when it beat Apple by a plain 9,000 views and HP fell out of the rankings entirely. But this week's tech gold metal goes to HP as it rebounded backwards onto the chart with 403,500+ views without Apple nor Nokia anywhere to be seen.
